A rather foxy yet clearly irresponsible teenage driver of a Citroen Saxo had British police running in circles –literally- in a chase that took place at the Hams Hall industrial estate near Coleshill, England, last month during a police crackdown on what they call illegal car cruise events.

One of the spectators who had stopped on the side of the road to enjoy the chase filmed the young man’s shenanigans and uploaded the video on Youtube for all to see.

It all started when an unmarked Seat Leon hatchback pursued the driver of the silver Saxo who managed to escape by speeding up, down and even in…reverse on the busy highway.

It may look like a commercial for the Citroen C5, but it's not. What you see going on here in this amateur video is an unbelievable incident that took place (literally) in front of the Serbian parliamentary building.

It all started when a middle-aged man (evidently intoxicated) drove his Citroen C5 on the opposite side of the road. A police officer attempted to stop the driver by opening the door of his car and talk some reason into him.

Taking valuable marketing lessons from Fiat and its highly successful Nuovo 500 mini, Citroen is constantly finding ways to promote its new DS3 hatchback. This time, the French carmaker dressed up several DS3s with a black rooftop featuring the "YSL" (Yves Saint Laurent) logo and other special trim options.

The special edition DS3s, which won't go on sale, were used to charter special guests at the opening of the retrospective exhibition of Saint Laurent's entire body of work at the Petit Palais museum on Wednesday. More photos after the jump.

Hot damn. Is it just me, or have recent Citroën concepts been some of the most show-worthy designer cars in a while? GTbyCitroën, definitely stunning. The Survolt, really fun to look at and reminisce about Ridge Racer or Cruis'n World. I even like the REVOLTe in a weird, this-isn't-right kind of way. And the next looker is just around the bend.

Called the GQbyCitroën, it's one of the best-looking GTs I've seen in a while - sorry, BMW - and is the result of a project led by GQ UK editor Dylan Jones.

The car's exterior was penned by Citroën's Mark Lloyd of DS3 fame (and his design team, naturally) while the interior is by Patrick Grant. Grant happens to be creative director at E. Tautz, a Savile Row tailor and the store where I purchase my linens.

While the Survolt sports car concept is definitely the most impressive vehicle at Citroen's Geneva Show booth, the big news for the French firm is the DS High Rider study, a thinly veiled version of the forthcoming DS4 crossover expected to be launched in early 2011.

Part hatchback, part crossover, the DS High Rider combines styling elements from its smaller DS3 sibling and the 2005 C-SportLounge concept with more muscular details, a gently sloping roof line and a higher ride height.

[Updated gallery with 'live' photos] A sleek electric sports coupe named 'Survolt' was Citroen's surprise debut at this year's edition of the Geneva Salon. The low-slung, 3,850 mm long, 1,870 mm wide and 1,200 mm tall concept car combines styling elements from both the 'GT by Citroen' supercar and last year's Revolte concept studies.

The French automaker did not release any technical details on the Survolt, so the only thing we know about the concept is that it is powered by an electric motor fed by a set of batteries.

And while the chances of a car like the Survolt making into production are slimmer than the return of the Edsel, the concept's design could inspire the next generation of Citroen's production cars. Full gallery after the jump.

Here's the first official video clip of the limited edition Citroen DS3 Racing that will be formally introduced at the Geneva Motor Show next week. A creation of Citroen's Racing division that handles the firm's World Rally Championship cars, the DS3 Racing will be produced in a strictly limited number of 1,000 units.

The hottest variant yet of the French automaker's premium supermini is powered by a tweaked version of the BMW-PSA Citroen Peugeot co-developed 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that's also used on the rivaling MINI Cooper JCW model. In the DS3 Racing, the 1.6 THP delivers an output of 200HP.

Citroen is aiming directly at MINI John Cooper Work's territory with its scorching hot new DS3 Racing sport model that will make its world premiere at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

Developed by Citroen's Racing division that handles the French firm's WRC cars, the special edition version of the DS3 hatch comes with a beefed up 1.6-liter turbo engine, modified chassis and a bevy of styling upgrades. It will go on sale in the second half of the year with production limited to 1,000 units.

Power comes from a tuned version of the standard model's Peugeot-Citroen PSA and BMW Group co-developed 1.6-liter turbocharged four. Citroen Racing's engineers modified and optimized the powertrain components, tuned the turbo, reconfigured the ECU and added a special tail pipe and muffler.

These upgrades boost the engine's output from 156HP and 240Nm to 200HP and 275Nm or 202.8 lb-ft of peak torque.

After a handful of dark teaser shots, Citroen today unleashed a slew of images of its new DS High Rider concept car that is set to be launched at the Geneva Salon on March 2. As anticipated, the DS High Rider is more of a pre-production model that teases the upcoming DS4 that than a pure conceptual study.

The second member of Citroen's growing DS family after the DS3 supermini is a strange mix of a C-segment three-door hatchback with muscular details, a gently sloping roof line and heightened ride.

With a few exceptions such as the fabric roof and the polished 19-inch alloy wheels, what you see in these pictures is what you'll get when the DS4 goes into production early next year.

In the same way it did with the DS3 supermini, Citroen is slowly taking the covers off the second member of its premium DS family, the DS4, before its formal debut -most likely in pre-production guise- at next month's Geneva Salon.

The slightly increased ride height suggests that the three-door DS4 may step into crossover territory, further differentiating it from the next-generation C4 hatchback with which it shares its platform and mechanical hardware.

The BMW Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën have signed a new agreement that will see the two companies developing the next generation of their jointly designed 4-cylinder petrol engine that will meet EU 6 requirements. The agreement was signed by Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, and Philippe Varin, Chairman of the Managing Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën, in Paris on Tuesday.

The current generation of the four-cylinder engine is being used in both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged forms on a bevy of MINI, Peugeot and Citroën brand models.

"We have always been very successful in our cooperation with our partners, and that is particularly true with regard to PSA. We are delighted to continue our engine cooperation and look into options for further collaboration," said BMW Group's Reithofer.

On the behalf of PSA Peugeot Citroën, the group's Chairman of the Managing Board Varin said: "This new agreement with BMW is confirming the success of the cooperation between our two companies which has produced 1.3 million engines since 2006. I am confident that the next generation of jointly developed engines will reach the same success as the current generation."

The two firms added that they also agreed to examine other possible areas for cooperation at systems and component level, with the aim of leveraging synergies in the development, production and procurement of selected parts.

Given the close relationship between the Peugeot Citroen PSA group and Mitsubishi that has already given birth to the Outlander-based Citroen C Crosser and Peugeot 4007 SUVs, we wouldn't be surprised if Theophilus Chin's photoshop proposal for a Citroen C3 Crosser model based on Mitsubishi's 'baby' crossover model, the all-new ASX, becomes a reality in a couple of years.

'ASX' is the name that Mitsubishi chose for the European version of the JDM RVR that will have its world premiere at this year's edition of the Geneva Motor Show in early March.

Citroen's handsome-looking C5 that is available in both sedan and estate forms is entering the 2010 model year with a revised engine line-up and equipment upgrades in the UK. The key improvements concern the introduction of the BMW Group co-developed 1.6i 16V THP 155 HP petrol engine that takes the place of the outgoing 2.0i 16V 143 HP unit and the new 2.0 HDi 16V 160 HP diesel that replaces both the 2.0 HDi 16V 140 HP and the 2.2 HDi 16V 173 HP engines.

The 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol unit produces an output of 155 horsepower and 240Nm (177lb.ft) of torque at 1,400 rpm. Citroen claims that this represents an 8 per cent increase in power, combined with an 18.5 per cent increase in combined-cycle fuel economy and a 16 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions (down from 198g/km to 167g/km) over the previous 2.0-liter unit.

As for the new 2.0HDi 16V diesel, it provides an output of 160 horsepower and 340Nm (251lb.ft) of torque at 2,000 rpm. In comparison to the outgoing 140hp manual C5 Saloon, Citroen says that there's a 14 per cent increase in power, a 3 per cent increase in fuel economy (combined cycle) and a 4 per cent reduction CO2 emissions (down from 153g/km to 147g/km).

In the UK, the SX trim level is renamed VTR while Citroen has upgraded the Exclusive models with a new integrated Bluetooth system with USB Box. Detailed pricing and performance figures can be seen in the spec sheets below.

If the new Citroen C-Zero electric mini looks familiar that's because it is. See, while the French automaker claims in its press release that the EV is developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi, what it really means to say is that the C-Zero is the product of 'badge engineering'. Like its twin brother, the Peugeot i0n that was revealed at the Frankfurt Show in September, the C-Zero is nothing more than a Mitsubishi i-MiEV with Citroen badges.

Due for launch in the last quarter of 2010, the C-Zero comes with the same electric-drivetrain as the i-MiEV meaning that it s powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 47kW or 64bhp from 3,000 to 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 180Nm from 0 to 2,000rpm that drives the rear wheels through a single-speed reduction gear.

The motor is powered by a 330-volt lithium-ion battery system comprising 88 50Ah cells (for onboard energy of 16kWh) which are mounted in the centre of the vehicle offering a range of around 130 kilometers or 80 miles.

A complete charge of the battery pack takes six hours through a conventional 220-volt socket while an 80 per cent charge is possible in about 30 minutes using an external station with a single-phase current of 125A at 400V, for power of up to 50kW.

The French company says that the four-seater C-Zero, which measures in at just 3.48m in length, can accelerate from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in 15 seconds, from 60 to 90 km/h (37-56mph) in 6 seconds and reach a top speed of 130km/h or 80mph.

A complete set of photos of Citroen's Frankfurt motorshow-bound concept car have leaked online. As you can see from the images, the prototype model bears the name 'Revolte' while the signature logo on the bonnet suggests that the car is part of Citroen's newly formed DS line-up that includes the recently announced DS3 premium supermini. While we don't have the details behind the DS Revolte, the vehicle's design that draws on the iconic 2CV implies that it could be previewing a sub-DS3 model.

Despite the 2CV styling cues that include details such as the fabric top that covers the whole length of the roof and the curvy front and rear ends, the Revolte boasts a more athletic and aggressive design than the classic Citroen, which is more than welcome, of course.

Other highlights include the 'suicide' rear doors and the overly futuristic interior with the alien spaceship-like dashboard. Expect to hear more about the Revolte in the next few days.
